  They have this new system where you can take a number and they will tell you how long the wait is and text you before it's your turn. Much better than in the past where you had to just sit there for hours. Still not a fun place but big improvements have been made.

  I didn't know it was possible for the SOS to not be a painful experience. I highly recommend making an appointment online. I made a noon appointment, and was called up to the window at exactly noon. Chrissie helped me, and was very fast getting my Michigan license, plates, and registration prepared.

  Unlike a lot of the other reviewers, I didn't have a problem waiting in line for anything. What I did have a problem with? The condescending and rude attitude of the woman who "helped" me. I am 22 years old and this is my first license in America. I had spent hundreds of dollars to be able to get my license and this was a pretty cool moment in my life. As such I dressed up well and put in some effort on how I look so that I would look good in my photo (after all this is my photo id for the next couple of years). Just as all the formalities had been dispersed and my picture was about to be taken my phone rang and I looked surprised. She didn't even show me the picture! She put it through the system and then showed it to me and I was completely horrified. I immediately asked if she could please take it again (all this in the space of about 30 seconds) and she just smirked and said it had already gone into the system. Imagine how sad and embarrassed I felt. I got outside and told my mom and brother what had transpired. They were pretty surprised and angry. Both of them told me that usually the person will take it and then ask if I'm okay with this picture and you are allowed to ask them to retake it like once. Anyway, she obviously could have waited for like five seconds to show it to me and then send it. I look like a horrified goblin in the photo...not cool man.
